Celebrating the life of

Helen Richardson Roberts

May 15, 1925 - March 13, 2012

Helen Richardson Roberts

Mrs. Helen Roberts
Mrs. Helen Roberts went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Tara Nursing Home in Savannah.
She was born Nancy Helen Richardson, daughter of James Calvin Richardson and Mary Hannah Goodwin of Aiken, S.C. She was educated in Aiken and moved to Savannah in 1944 when she married Cecil M. Moore, who preceded her in death as did her seven siblings, and one granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by Doy Williams and Clyde Roberts.
Survivors include one sister, Zelma Smith of Aiken, S.C., two daughters, Nancy East and her husband Tom of Pensacola, FL, Frances Curry, and one son, Cecil C. Moore and his wife, Louise of Savannah, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, and one due in July.
She was very much a "people person" and was a longtime representative of Curry Dry Cleaners where she was employed for several years. Her favorite thing to do was cook, whether for 100 people or 10. Her home was always open to all and all were welcomed. When Strategic Air Command was based at Hunter Army Airfield, she "adopted" several married couples stationed there at the time. They became our family and spent many hours and Sunday dinners in our home.
In April of 1998, she suffered a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage and has spent the last fourteen years with her "other" family at Tara Nursing Facility. We will never be able to say enough wonderful things about her care-givers at Tara, too numerous to mention them all, and we want to thank them for their love and tender care all of these years. We also would like to thank the shut in ministry at Calvary Baptist Temple for their visits and many expressions of love. Though she was not a member of Calvary, they made her a part of their fellowship.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with The Rev. Tommy East officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
We are grateful for all remembrances, flowers or the charity of your choice.
